Brighte Energy Saver Loan Scheme

(ESLS) is Ending September 1st

Important Update: Tasmanian Energy Saver Loan Scheme Ending

The Tasmanian Government’s Energy Saver Loan Scheme (ESLS) — which offered households and small businesses 0% interest loans of up to $10,000 for solar, batteries, EV chargers, and energy efficiency upgrades — is officially coming to an end.

Key Dates:

  • Until 1 September 2025: New ESLS applications can still be submitted and approved applications will proceed as normal.
  • From 1 September 2025: No new ESLS applications will be accepted, and open referrals will expire.
  • By 30 November 2025: All approved applications must be settled.

**This means that Tasmanians who want to access interest-free finance for solar and batteries must act quickly. Demand is already high, and applications need to be processed before the deadline.

What Happens After September 1st?

From September 2025 onwards, Brighte will continue to provide finance, but loans are expected to carry an estimated 5–10% interest rate on amounts up to $10,000. This is a major shift from the current 0% interest finance available under the ESLS.

That’s why now is the perfect time to upgrade your system — especially with the new Labor Government Battery Rebate also in place, giving Tasmanian households thousands in additional savings.

What You Need To Do

  • Submit your ESLS application before 1 September 2025.
  • Secure your interest-free finance with Brighte under the current scheme.
  • Take advantage of the new Battery Rebate to maximise your savings.
